Ben Bassi is a seasoned internet pioneer and marketing executive with a proven track record. CommonPlaces specializes in advancing small and medium-sized companies to the next level of revenue and profitability through the utilization of interactive marketing, website development and e-business solutions.
As Chief Operating Officer of the Firefly Network, the Web's first personalized community, Bassi was among the early pioneers of Internet privacy standards working with the Federal Trade Commission, Microsoft and Netscape. He led the company's efforts in developing e-business and privacy solutions for companies like Barnes & Noble, Cendant, MasterCard, Marriott, Proctor & Gamble and Yahoo!. Microsoft acquired Firefly and the Firefly Passport is used today in its web and e-business solutions offerings.
At Lycos, Bassi was the initial Vice President of Business Development and was instrumental in elevating the company from the status of a college project to a publicly held entity. He was responsible for creating many of the first portal traffic agreements and licensing the Lycos portal technology to over 35 companies internationally with industry giants such as GTE, Microsoft, Netscape, Time Warner and Viacom. Bassi also spearheaded Lycos' joint venture with Bertelsmann/BMG and published over 50 Internet books.

Thomas Obrey co-founded PixelMEDIA in 1994. Since then, he has initiated and implemented a creative strategy and drive that has launched PixelMEDIA from a multimedia company into the successful full service development facility that it is today. As Chief Operating Officer, he is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company, managing the development and professional services staff. This also includes providing senior level strategy and consultation services to the company's vast client base. Tom's expertise and knowledge base have established lasting relationships with notable companies such as Cbeyond Communications, Lojack, Nokia, and Teradyne.
Prior to founding PixelMEDIA, he worked at Cabletron Systems for four years. In this progressive work environment Tom was able grow into various positions in the areas of product development, network management and multimedia. Individually, he has gained national accolades for his work, including being twice named as a Top 100 Media Producer in the Country by AV/Multimedia Producer Magazine. He has also been featured in Computerworld and VAR Magazine, and was a MIMC Award and ENVISION Award finalist for his technology design work.
